Weatherly | 2023 Senior

There is something about sunshine, fresh flowers, a mountain breeze and a river flowing, that just brings your mood up a little. Weatherly’s high school senior session was all that and more. Between two locations and three outfits, many memories were made and beautiful pictures were taken. Each year, as Lindsay and I take more photos, we end up with one session that beats our all time favorite, and this senior session takes the cake.

The session started out in the City of Laramie, Wyoming, right on a sidewalk next to some beautiful sunflowers. Although the sun was higher in the sky and fairly intense, it made for some very glowy photos. The beautiful flowers made her dress pop in an amazing way. After finishing our final shots at this setting we started our drive to the Snowy Range Mountains as the sun started descending coming into the perfect golden hour.

After arriving at Lake Marie at about 10,500 feet elevation, Weatherly changed into her second outfit. As the sun was beginning to set and Lindsay wasted no time in taking advantage of the scenery. As I took pictures and a few videos as the second shooter, it was so much fun seeing Lindsay enjoying the mountain features. You can see the breath taking view of the lake, trees and mountain peaks in the background.

With the sun dropping quickly behind the mountains, we continued on deeper into the trees and along the path capturing pictures in her white top and blue jeans. For Weatherly’s final outfit change, she was able to take advantage of our pop-up changing tent right in the middle of the mountains. After changing, we began taking our final pictures of the session, saving the fun ones for the last. To finish, with tradition of all our seniors, we pop open some smoke bombs and filled the forest scenery with Weatherly’s favorite color of smoke.

After the sun had faded and it was near dusk, we got to see a moose as we were walking back to our cars in the Lake Marie parking lot. As Lindsay and I made our descent down the mountain road, we both expressed how much we enjoyed the session.

We can not wait to book another Snowy Range Mountain session. Honestly, I don’t know if this session can be beat. We will just have to see.
